With magic being the rules-heavy part of this game, you should not forget that it is nevertheless a roleplaying game. During roleplaying, the game mechanics should serve as a guideline. A good story is more important than every bit of math being 100% correct.

All formulas used in the Magic section of the game, if not calculated automatically by the engine anyways, should be seen in this light. Nobody really cares if your ritual lasts 24 hours or just 22. If the story is more interesting with two hours missing, the story is more important.
Likewise, the calculation of fizzles or side-effects seems complicated, but its purpose is to give you a feeling for the relations and how much can go how wrong. If an interesting fizzle uses a shift more or less than strictly speaking available, that's not a reason to not have it. Again, a good story trumps the game-mechanics math.

Spellcasting is a bit of an exception to this rule, because it is by nature the strictest and most controlled form of magic. But here, all the calculations are done by the engine itself so you can focus on telling the story.
All you need to do is put your story into our parser once you are done writing it, inserting codes at the places where you use magic, the parser makes that easy with a few dropdown selectors. You can then copy-and-paste the result into the forum or any other place you need it.
